What should a local store post? A month of ideas

Ideas for posts and stories for food, clothing and service stores, so that a small store never has an empty caption.

Posting is rarely difficult because of the app. It is the blank caption on a busy day. A small monthly plan removes most of that.

Know the difference

A post stays up while your plan is active, so use it for things that stay true, like menus, bestsellers and your location. A story lasts 24 hours; use it for today: a special, a fresh batch, a rainy day offer. A deal is a promise with conditions, so use it only if you can honour it for everyone who claims it.

Four types of post for any store

  1. The thing itself. A clear picture in daylight, a price and one sentence. “Chicken karahi, half kg, ready in 20 minutes.”
  2. Behind the counter. The tandoor at 6 pm, or new fabric being unpacked. Trust is based on sight.
  3. The answer. Take a question customers ask each week and answer it in a post. Do you deliver to Madina Town? Can you stitch within two days?
  4. The reminder. Your hours, your location, your busy times. It seems dull, but it saves people a wasted trip.

Write a caption the way you would say it

Short, specific and in your customers’ words. Mixing Urdu and English is okay. “Fresh” means little, while “baked this morning at 7” tells people a lot.

Reply where people ask

An unanswered comment tells everyone reading it that the store is not there. Comments and orders reach your phone as notifications, so respond while the question is warm.

Check what worked

Stories show how many people watched. Likes and saves show what people wanted to keep. At the end of the month, do more of the two things that did best.
